As a pharmaceutical company on the pharmaceutical market, we take responsibility for human health and life. This is why we consider the quality of our products and the safety of patients our top priorities.
- We demonstrate our commitment to superior quality at every stage of product development, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and sale.
- All our products comply with the most stringent international standards of Good Manufacturing Practice.
- We hold GMP Certificates issued by the Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate for all finished dosage forms and active pharmaceutical ingredients we manufacture.
- We utilize state-of-the-art technologies to ensure the safety of our products, employees, and the natural environment.
Pharmacovigilance
We make every effort to minimize all drug-related risks. We monitor drug use safety on an ongoing basis. Our dedicated Pharmacovigilance department collects, analyses and records adverse drug reaction reports from all markets where our products are present. We investigate into causes, evaluate risks and benefits related to drug use, and implement measures to minimize risks. We are part of Eudravigilance, which is a European web-based system for the electronic handling of adverse drug reaction reports.
Marketing ethics
We are the co-authors and signatories of the Code of Pharmaceutical Marketing Ethics developed by the Polish Association of Pharmaceutical Industry Employers. We ensure that all our marketing activities are fair, accurate, and consistent with the ethical standards set out in the Code.
We only release verified and reliable information, which we deliver in an unambiguous and objective way. We monitor the quality of our marketing activities and we are committed to continually improving our standards in this respect.
Information on medicinal products
We ensure that information about our products and their mode of action is clear and accurate.
Our patient information leaflets are based on the findings of so-called Readability Tests, i.e. consultations with target-group test participants who are likely to be users of the medicinal product, in order to ensure it is correctly used and safe for patients. Patients are ABLE TO FIND relevant information in the leaflet, UNDERSTAND it and KNOW HOW TO ACT UPON IT appropriately.
Accommodations for the visually-impaired
In order to respond to the needs of the blind and partially-sighted end-users of our medicinal products, we have created audio-format patient information leaflets. The audio leaflets are available in Polish at the toll-free telephone number 800 706 848 via the Ulotka Audio system developed by MEDsynC. The system was devised in close cooperation with the Polish Association of the Blind, and it is recommended by the organization as a product which is friendly to the visually-impaired.
Polpharma received the following letter of acknowledgement from the Polish Association of the Blind: “The Ulotka Audio system offers quick, safe and readily-available access to requested information on medicinal products free of charge. The information line is easy to use, which means product information can be obtained without third-party assistance. In our opinion, by providing medicinal product information in this format your company has demonstrated its attention to the needs of people with visual impairments.”
In addition, our medicinal product packages are provided with Braille labeling (i.e. text written in a tactile system which can be read by the visually impaired) in compliance with relevant EU requirements.
Communication window on the product package
We make every effort to provide medicinal product packaging which ensures safe product use and is patient- and pharmacist-friendly. With this in mind, we have designed product packages with a special communication window for all our prescription medicines.
The window is comprised of two boxes. One of them is a fixed boxed area on the back of the package designed for the price tag to be attached by the pharmacist. This solution helps avoid covering information which is important for the patient – such as drug composition, dose, or precautions – with the price tag.
The second box is a practical solution which helps patients remember their dosage regimen. Patients tend to lose notes with their health care provider’s instructions. Now they can note down the dosage regimen in rows corresponding to different times of the day. This solution significantly improves patient compliance and the effectiveness of therapy.
