The Foundation was founded by Polpharma in 2001. Its Mission, which is expressed by the slogan – We Help People of Science, is to support the development of pharmaceutical and medical science by financing scientific research in these fields.

Aims of the Foundation

• to initiate, organize, and finance (or co-finance) scientific research and various practical solutions,
• to popularize and propagate new solutions in the fields of pharmacy and medicine with particular attention paid to scientific research and works,
• to provide financial help to institutions, organizations, and individuals who have achieved distinction in the fields of pharmacy and medicine,
• to build a framework for the exchange of information between the representatives of scientific, social and business environments and to commence working with
• domestic and foreign foundations, associations and scientific committees whose aims and tasks are identical or similar to those of the Foundation,
• to popularize pharmaceutical and medical knowledge.
   

The statutory authorities of the Foundation are the Council, Management Board and  Scientific Council. All of the members of the Foundation’s authorities work on a honorary basis. The Scientific Council, which is composed of outstanding Polish scientists, experts in various fields of medicine and pharmacy, performs a rather significant function. It is presided over by Piotr Kuna – professor of medical sciences with a post-doctoral degree. The Scientific Council’s tasks include evaluating applications for research projects that are entered into the competition, selecting reviewers and ranking the list of applications for the Council and the Management Board of the Foundation, which are to ultimately select the recipient of the grant.
