The Polpharma Academy

POLPHARMA has launched a training and recruitment program, developed with the best graduates of Polish universities who studied biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacy and related subjects in mind.

Within the framework of this program, called the POLPHARMA ACADEMY, a group of 35 persons will have the opportunity to participate in training, a six-month internship and to obtain permanent employment in POLPHARMA’s R&D departments. This is the first program of its kind addressed to young Masters and Ph.D. degree holders in Poland, providing them with broad opportunities to develop their professional careers.

“The POLPHARMA ACADEMY is a new recruitment and HR development method in the company, based on in-house training and the development of young employees. Exceptionally talented graduates with appropriate predispositions will have the opportunity systematically to expand their knowledge and skills based on long-term career and development paths prepared by the HR Department,” said Grzegorz Sokołowski, Corporate Director for HR Management.

The training program covers the following areas:

 

  •       Pharmaceutical products development – formulation and pharmaceutical analysis
  •       Pharmaceutical products production and quality assurance systems
  •       Pharmaco-kinetics and drug bio-equivalence tests
  •       Pharmaceutical law, patents and registration of pharmaceutical products
  •       Licensing of pharmaceutical products
  •       Marketing and sales of pharmaceutical products


Course of the program

A group of 35 persons – graduates of Masters and Ph.D. degree studies in biotechnology, chemistry and pharmacy – has been selected by the HR Department at POLPHARMA as a result of an intensive selection process. They now have the opportunity to participate in a six-month professional internship in POLPHARMA’s R&D Departments.

The first stage
at the POLPHARMA ACADEMY is an intensive, two-week training program, which started on 18 October. During four days, the program participants go through theoretical training and take part in meetings with representatives of particular functions at POLPHARMA, concerned with production, research and development (formulations and pharmaceutical analysis), control and quality assurance, licences as well as issues of intellectual property and pharmaceutical patents.

Next, based on individual preferences and the evaluation of their competencies
and predispositions, participants will be assigned to one of three functional groups: production and formulations, documentation or laboratory. Subsequent days are dedicated to functional activities, i.e. learning the tools necessary to work through the assignment of particular tasks. The last day of the first stage consists of presentations and discussion of the projects prepared by the participants during functional classes, as well as an official part, i.e. presentation of diplomas certifying completion of the training part of the POLPHARMA ACADEMY.

The second stage
of the program will consist of six-month professional internships, which will take place in various company departments. Those participants who successfully complete the tasks assigned at the first stage and who – in the opinion of the HR Department specialists – have the potential to develop their professional careers in POLPHARMA, will qualify for the internships.
