Nominations for the President’s Economy Award
Polpharma was among the nominees for the President’s Economy Award in the category “Research and Development”. The winners will be revealed on 16 November during the “Congress 590” in Rzeszów.
The President’s Economy Award is presented to companies which bring substantial contribution to the development of the Polish economy. This year, the Chapter of the Award nominated 18 companies in various categories.
In the category Research and Development, the following were nominated:
- Polpharma SA Pharmaceutical Works (Proposing institution: Pomerania Province Marshal Office),
- Croetech Instruments S.A. (Proposing institution: Industrial Development Agency),
- Research Team of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw and the Centre for New Technologies (Proposing institution: Patent Office of the Republic of Poland).
Polpharmа is one of the biggest entities to invest in research and development in Poland. It has 7 R&D facilities, including 4 in Poland. Polpharma promotes development of advanced products, including modern biopharmaceuticals, which can make a breakthrough in the treatment of many severe diseases. According to a report produced by the European Patent Office, in 2016 Polpharma ranked first among Polish companies in terms of the number of European patent applications.
